NDFOA − Serving the Community
The Northwest District Football Officials Association (NDFOA), is a non-profit organization established to assign its members as officials and promote the game of football at the recreation, middle school, and high school levels throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Although our members receive a fee for their services, our main function is the training of football officials in the implementation of the mechanics and rules of the game as set forth by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) including the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).
The NDFOA offers its members: Rules interpretations, new officials class, mentoring program for new officials, mechanics seminar, officiating clinic
(with MAC, Big Ten and NFL Officials), end of the season officials banquet, preseason cookout, golf outing, advancement tests for OHSAA, preseason rules review with local high school teams, help with OHSAA/MHSAA licensing requirements and OHSAA Information and game scheduling.
We are very excited about our new site and we hope it will help to facilitate communication across our membership and the NW Ohio and SE Michigan football communities by providing an easy-to-understand single point of access for our members, assigners, athletic directors and coaches from throughout the NW Ohio and SE Michigan regions, and an informative point of reference for individuals interested in becoming a NDFOA Official.
Our Mission is to improve the game of football in the states of Ohio and Michigan by providing an educated and skilled body of officials that will seek fair play and safety by appropriately enforcing the rules set forth by the National Federation of High School Associations, Ohio High School Athletic Association and the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
